What is DELE?
The DELE (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera) are official diplomas that certify your level of competence in Spanish. They are issued by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of Spain's Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, and are recognized internationally by schools, universities, employers and public institutions.
The exams follow the six levels of the Common European Framework of Reference (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2). DELE diplomas never expire.

Which exam should I choose: Schoolers or Adults?
DELE for Schoolers is designed for school-age students (typically 11 to 17 years old). It is offered on Friday, May 21, 2027 at levels A1, A2/B1 and B2/C1. The A2/B1 and B2/C1 exams are single exams with two possible results: your score determines which of the two diplomas you obtain.
DELE for Adults (general DELE) is open to everyone and is offered on Saturday, May 22, 2027 at levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.

How to register
- From November 18, 2026, choose your exam (Schoolers or Adults) and your level in the section above and click Register now.
- Complete the student information and pay online.
- Complete and sign the official Instituto Cervantes DELE Registration Form and Specific Terms and Conditions. This step is required. The form for the May 2027 session will be available here when registration opens.
- Your registration is complete once we receive your form and payment. You will receive a welcome email, and our team will send you the exam-day details: time, location and what to bring.
Registration closes on April 7, 2027, or earlier if all seats are filled. Space is limited.
What do I need on exam day?
Bring the same identification document you used to register. Your name and document number must match your registration exactly. Candidates who do not present that document may not be allowed to take the exam.
Your registration is based on the information you enter in the registration form, so please check your full name and ID details carefully.
Special needs, withdrawals and refunds
If you need to take the exam under special conditions, tell us when you register so we can submit the request to the Instituto Cervantes in time.
Withdrawal and refund requests must be made in writing, following the deadlines in the Instituto Cervantes terms and conditions included in the registration form.
