Get Ready for Classes!
Isabella & Ferdinand® Academia de Español® offers classes for children and teens aged 2 to 17, and private classes for adults. The classes cater to both first-time learners of the Spanish language and children who already possess a solid comprehension and oral foundation in Spanish. Isabella & Ferdinand Intensive classes are multi-hour sessions designed for bilingual children, focusing on achieving grade-level fluency in Spanish.
We are conveniently located at Horace Mann ES in Northwest DC, with our address at 4430 Newark Street NW, Washington, DC 20016. We are now situated right across the street from our previous Learning Center at 3301 New Mexico Ave.
In addition to our location, Isabella & Ferdinand also partners with schools to offer our Spanish classes as an enriching program. If you are interested in implementing the Isabella & Ferdinand curriculum at your school or community center, please reach out to us at info@isabellaandferdinand.org.

Sunday Spanish School (Spaces Chase Tower, Chevy Chase): Sep 6 – Dec 13, 2026 · 14 weeks.
Before & After School Programs: Horace Mann Elementary School follows the DCPS 2026–2027 calendar (first day Aug 24, 2026). Ross Elementary School: Tuesdays & Thursdays, follows the DCPS 2026–2027 calendar.
No weekend classes: Nov 28–29 (Thanksgiving weekend) and Dec 26–27 (Winter Break).
DELE exam: Nov 13–14, 2026.
DCPS closures (weekday programs only): Sep 7 (Labor Day), Oct 12 (Indigenous Peoples’ Day), Oct 13, Oct 30, Nov 2, Nov 3 (Election Day), Nov 11 (Veterans Day), Nov 25–27 (Thanksgiving Break), Dec 21 – Jan 1 (Winter Break).

Good to know
- Saturday Spanish School meets at Horace Mann Elementary School, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Sunday Spanish School meets at Spaces Chase Tower, 4445 Willard Ave, Suite 600, Chevy Chase, MD, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
- No weekend classes: Nov 28–29 (Thanksgiving), Dec 26–27 and Jan 2–3 (Winter Break), Mar 27–28 (Spring Break).
- DELE exam days: Nov 13–14, 2026 and May 21–22, 2027. There is no Saturday School on Nov 14 and May 22; the Nov 14 class is made up on Dec 19.
- School-based programs (Horace Mann, Ross and partner schools) follow the official DCPS 2026–2027 calendar. DCPS weekday closures are shown in grey for reference; they do not affect weekend classes.
- Private and online classes remain open all year, according to each student’s package. In-person classes do not meet during Thanksgiving or Winter Break.
