Uniting Language and Soccer: Building Bridges Through Spanish with D.C. United

We are thrilled to celebrate our enduring partnership with D.C. United, a prominent Major League Soccer team, in promoting Spanish language learning and cultural understanding.

Since our collaboration began in 2020, Isabella & Ferdinand® Academia de Español™ has been providing exceptional Spanish language instruction to D.C. United's first team players, management, and front office staff.

Through our exclusive partnership, D.C. United players have had the opportunity to participate in various Isabella & Ferdinand student events, including engaging summer camps and enriching classes.

Since its establishment in 1996 as one of the founding clubs of Major League Soccer, D.C. United has earned a stellar reputation, having secured 13 domestic and international trophies. With many current and former players originating from Latin America, the team actively engages in programs and events that support the Latino community in the District.

"D.C. United holds a significant place within our nation's capital, and our shared community values and commitment to cultural understanding make this collaboration truly special. Soccer is a beloved sport throughout Spain and Latin America, making our partnership a natural fit. We are dedicated to delivering the highest caliber of instruction to D.C. United's players, management, and staff, enabling them to develop a comprehensive understanding of the Spanish language and the diverse countries where it is spoken." - Maira Abasto, Executive Director of Isabella & Ferdinand.

This long standing partnership between Isabella & Ferdinand and D.C. United exemplifies our shared commitment to education, cultural exchange, and language learning. As we continue our journey together in 2023, we aim to deepen our understanding of the Spanish language and foster a genuine appreciation for its rich cultural heritage, strengthening the bond between our organizations and promoting a truly inclusive and diverse community.

“We are excited to announce a partnership with Isabella & Ferdinand to provide best-in-class Spanish lessons for our players, coaches, and staff. Expanding our collective education and language skills and promoting cultural understanding are all important to our club, and we’re pleased to team-up with an organization that shares those values.”-  Jason Levien, CEO of D.C.
